[IEF_BUH] The "Green Summer 2017" campaign has officially kicked off. The Integration Team with 17 members have a mission to connect the citizens, youngsters and students closer to the smaller world through integrating in order to equip knowledge as well as significant skills to succeed in its mission in this campaign. In July 25, 2017 at 2 pm, all members of the Integration Team participated in the "ASEAN - Opportunities and Challenges" program organized by Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of District 1- Da Kao Ward, UNESCO– CIE, Dilma Tea and PIKE VIETNAM. With the aim of providing information about job opportunities, competitiveness and orientation for young people, especially Vietnamese students to help them get a reliable, precise and accurate view from the experts currently working in domestic or abroad companies and corporations, the program focused on:
- How can a fresh graduated person apply for a job successfully?
- What is the difference between the domestic and international workplace?
- Which skills should you prepare for such job competition?
To begin the program, the TALK SHOW with two experts: Nguyen Le Hai Dang and Dinh Duy Ha. The first guest, Mr. Nguyen Le Hai Dang, is currently the CEO of PCG Vietnam- partner of UNESCO – CIE. With more than 7- year-experience in marketing, working in many MNCs, he brought some reliable information to students about a real-world perspective when working in a foreign workplace as well as opportunities and challenges, and then how to pass them. Furthermore, he shared about recruiters’ expectations and requirements on a potential candidate. He gave all students a better overview of the competitiveness in seeking for job. He showed them what current students are missing and which skills they need to improve right now. According to his sharing, there are five basic elements that a fresh graduate should have. They are communication, teamwork, negotiation and time management skills.
The second guest, Mr. Dinh Duy Ha, currently is Food Service Manager of Dilmah Group. He has undertaken various positions in Sales. He shared his practical experiences, the stages he has gone through to entry the international environment or how he could overcome the pressure in work as well as intercultural barriers when working. He has kept a source of fire that never lets him out so he has been ready to challenge himself before any new position, even in a new environment. “To gain achievements today, I have always learnt and improved my knowledge, skills and so on, most importantly, foreign language. This will be your key to success”- he said.
“The flight of ASEAN Airlines has brought a unique point to the passengers on the flight, which is Networking. All the participants were exchanged directly with the speakers instead of standing on the stage and listening to them share.”
The end of the program was the “ASEAN Bell Ring” which organized by the Youth Summer Volunteers from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The program attracted a lot of students presenting at the program, and overcome the interesting question easily. Besides, at the right corner of the campus, is also taking place "ASEAN Food Fair/ Market" with diverse food which is imbued with national identity of each country in ASEAN.
The program has brought to the Integration Team as well as the other students the valuable information of working in international and domestic environment. According to this program, the Faculty of International Economics hopes that the knowledge received will be the bringing for all of you in your career path as well as in accumulation of knowledge to be able to success in the future. Maybe, these are unforgettable memories for the volunteers in the Integration Team of the Faculty of International Economics in Banking University at Ho Chi Minh city.
