FIATA: Vietnam's logistics industry has a lot of potential for development
On October 4 at the Brussels Convention Center, Belgium, the Vietnam Logistics Service Business Association (VLA) attended the World Congress of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) delegation led by Secretary General Nguyen Duy Minh. It is an international event that offers business, social and networking opportunities as well as interaction with governmental and non-governmental organizations. With the theme "Climate is changing the logistics industry", the congress will address the latest challenges, innovations and developments in a changing global market.
At this conference, the Association looks forward to promoting FWC 2025 to be held in Vietnam and hopes that Vietnamese export service companies can cooperate with Belgian partners to establish a Vietnamese logistics center in Belgium. This is a good opportunity to reduce transportation costs, contributing to promoting Vietnamese goods into Europe as well as transshipment to Africa.
After Covid-19, Vietnam has many opportunities to develop the logistics industry due to many production activities carried out. Vietnam's geographical location is also an advantage to build a logistics hub of Asia region with air, maritime, rail and river modes. FIAT will coordinate with the VLA for logistical training, helping with professional development.

Vietnam's Coffee Prices Surge, Boosting Exports
Following global price trends, the domestic market has seen a reversal in coffee prices in the Central Highlands and the Southern provinces, increasing by 200-300 VND/kg. Current local purchase prices hover around 65,900 - 66,700 VND/kg, marking the highest levels in several years.
However, coffee reserves are currently very low. This has led to a decrease in coffee exports from August to October compared to the same period last year. Despite this, the average export price of coffee in the first half of September 2023 continued to rise. By mid-September, Vietnam recorded its sixth consecutive month of increased coffee export prices, reaching a record high of 3,054 USD/ton, a nearly 30% increase compared to the same period last year.

Vietnam has participated in global Coffee Expositions and Conferences to boost coffee exports and identified India as a significant market for its coffee exports, especially processed coffee products like ground and instant coffee. The country is also intensifying its trade promotion activities, forging connections, and penetrating distribution networks in India.
