On September 27th 2019, at Kim Do Hotel, Deloitte Vietnam Co. Ltd and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in Vietnam have successfully organized the 2019 Lighting Up Your Future Scholarship Award Ceremony - a special scholarship for students majoring in economics who try to overcome difficult circumstances and have excellent academic performance
Attending the ceremony were Ms. Ha Thu Thanh- Chairman of the Board of Directors of Deloitte Vietnam Co. Ltd and more than 30 honorary delegates from universities that have students achieving scholarships, authorities as well as partners, customers, and parents spending precious time congratulating these students.
Each scholarship is worth 25 million VND, including 3 million VND in cash, 7 million VND is paid for courses chosen by the scholarship winners. In addition, these students also have the opportunity to participate in a special summer internship program along with soft skills courses at Deloitte Vietnam and exchange events of ACCA and Deloitte Vietnam worth 15 million VND.
In 2019, there were 100 scholarships awarded to students of universities in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, in which Ho Chi Minh City has the presence of 4 universities, namely University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, University of Economics and Law, Foreign Trade University II and Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City. Banking University of Ho Chi Minh City is honored to have 9 students win scholarships. The list includes:

Below is the speech of Nguyen Thi Trang - a junior student of the International Economics Faculty sharing her feeling after receiving the 2019 Light Up the Future Scholarship:
“I am very honored to be one of 44 students in Ho Chi Minh City to receive scholarships for students having difficult circumstances and performing excellently in academics. And what's more, I'm so proud of being the only student of the Faculty of International Economics standing here to receive this scholarship! Every student has gone through different difficulties, but we always try our best every day to be able to overcome obstacles and get better results in studying. I once heard a saying: "We can't choose how we're born, but we can choose how we live. " Maybe that's the reason why I always choose my own way of life with faith and determination to pursue my dreams. The scholarship is not only a material gift but also a source of spiritual encouragement to students like me, giving them the strength to be able to conquer their dreams.
On that scholarship ceremony day, I had a chance to meet many people from previous generations who came here to attend the ceremony. Most of them are very successful and work in "Big4" companies and multinational corporations. In particular, I also heard statements and sharings from Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Nguyen- currently an auditor at Deloitte and the 5th generation of the 2017 Light Up Your Future Scholarship Fund. The story's about the challenges he had to go through when he was a student, but thanks to the support of the Scholarship Fund and his efforts, he was able to get over it and become a successful person. Honestly, we and other students should take him as our model to follow and learn from. The sharings about his work after graduation are also a valuable lesson for us. And it was such a wonderful time because I encountered BUH's alumni, especially Ms. Thuy Quynh - a former student of the Faculty of International Economics and currently an intern of the Unilever multinational corporation.
My friends and I were very happy on that day when we found that Ms. Ho Thuy Ai – Vice-dean of International Economics Faculty attended and congratulated us at the ceremony.
I've never forgotten the moment of receiving hugs and congratulations from her and taking some memorable photos.
I'm really excited and nervous about the upcoming internship at Deloitte. I hope this internship will help me have a great experience and learn a lot of things in a professional environment as well as make me more confident in front of employers down the road.
I would like to send a thank you to the sponsors from Deloitte and ACCA Vietnam for giving us such a great gift. Moreover, I wish to express my sincere thanks to the teachers in the university and the faculty who informed us about this scholarship. We’re super happy to receive the attention from benefactors, teachers, and the faculty.
